Big Brother Sex Fest

Labels: , , ,

HARARE, September 4 2008 - The Big Brother Africa 3 (BBA3) House last week came under fire from bloggers and conservatives who expressed shock at the nudity and sex talk.

The house has been in an “amorous” mood and some viewers have further gone to suggest that the reality show could shock all and even match Big Brother UK.

BBA3 has had its moments of political talk with other participants asking Zimbabwean Munyaradzi the cost of a loaf of bread, obviously to show the level of inflation here. Big Brother camera people sensing tension, zoomed the cameras to the empty poolside for about twenty minutes to mute the conversation.

Housemates like Zimbabwe’s Munyaradzi, Ricco, Takondwa and Thami have showered in the nude.

What came as a shock was Ghanaian housemate Mimi’s strategy for winning this years Big Brother prize - being intimate in front of the cameras.

She confided in Morris that she plans to win by emulating BBA2's Tatiana and even doing better. Tatiana came third in BBA2. She gained notoriety -and popularity among some, by kissing and sharing a bed with married Richard, who won BBA2.

Looks like Morris is set to score with Tanzania's Latoya- It is less than a week into the 91 days and the house is already bursting with hormones.

A game recently played in the house called 'Truth or Dare' ended in Sheila French kissing all the boys, six of them. And then Ricco performing a lap dance for Sheila while crazy Takwonda stripped in front of all the housemates.

A blogger from South Africa, Andile Dube said: “I have watched in horror as the show becomes a sex flick, if not downright porn and I am not impressed.

“Everyone in the house is using sex as a tool to get the $US100 000 price. Its a shame to lose dignity this way.”

Another blogger, Felix from Nigeria, said he is shocked by the housemates’ daytime activity.

“I ask myself a few more questions, what really is a reality show based on, I thought it was supposed to be acting out your real life in the house or just being yourself, how else do you describe two boys and a girl butt naked in the shower at the same time, is that reality or a desperate attempt by the house mates to win,” he wrote.

John Makanda from Braeside in Harare said BBA was losing the plot and blamed the show for promoting “anti-social behaviour”.

However, Elizabeth Roberts wrote in a forum that BBA 3 was entertaining and should be treated as a lifestyle programme.

“Big Brother shows human nature when cornered and when forced to act according to a given environment.... and its a good concept,” she wrote in a blog.
